There are quite a few random thoughts running through this wandering mind of mine this week, and it seems to be taking me in a variety of directions.

I’m feeling very exhausted, yet I find the inner strength to pray. It feels great when I open myself up and converse with and then listen to my spiritual Father. This is especially true when life throws you a curveball when you were expecting a slider. (Please excuse the baseball reference.)

Recently, I came upon once of those thought-provoking quotes about dealing with the difficulties we face in life:

“What’s over my head is under your feet.”

When things are out of my control, and things often are, it’s good to remember that God is still on top of it. No matter how stressed or troubled that I may be with the challenges of daily life – those things over my head – I need to remember that God is right there with me, lifting me up when I am dragging my feet in order to tackle whatever comes my way. That’s very reassuring, especially when I cannot see the path ahead because of the self-created obstacles in my way. God is good!

Another thought…

A while back, I was reading some material on centering prayer when a particular quote jumped off the page. I immediately added it to my list of likeable quotes:

The man who knows what questions to ask is on the verge of understanding; the man who is beginning to understand what he does not know is not far from knowledge. ~Abba Isaac

Random Thoughts from a Wandering Mind This got me thinking on how relevant this quote is to the journey that all of us are all taking. As we travel down the winding roadways of life, we all eventually come to the same intersection and realize that there are so many questions and so much to learn.

We cannot fully understand unless we keep asking questions. We must strive to keep learning in order for us to grow mentally and spiritually. One is never too old to keep learning and growing.

I continue to ask God to grant me the knowledge and understanding of his divine word and that I fully discern my spiritual calling each and every day. Let me not get over my head in the worries of today but realize that the beauty of life lies directly under my feet and deep within my heart.

Just one thing: forgetting what lies behind but straining forward to what lies ahead, continue my pursuit toward the goal, the prize of God’s upward calling, in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 3:13-14
