Here we are in this season of Lent,
A time for reflection, a time to be spent
In prayer to our Father in thanksgiving and praise
To lift up our hearts, our hands we shall raise.

The Joy of LentFor God is here with us, each night and each day,
He walks right beside us; do not fear or dismay.
Our Father rejoices in all that we are,
Whether we hold Him so close or stand from afar.

He loves us, renews us, and our praises He sings
So do not be anxious for whatever life brings.
Because God is there for us, no matter the time
I hope this is evident through the words of this rhyme.

We often forget about God’s presence each day,
We get so caught up as life gets in the way.
But for every step that we take, know one thing for sure:
Even when we falter, God helps us endure.

The challenge is finding the Lord as we live,
In our joys, in our pain, in our judgements we give.
No matter our mood, even when we’re not “with it,”
We are one in the Lord. We are one in the Spirit.

The Joy of LentGod loves us so much, that he gave us his Son
To save us from sin; the victory he’s won.
So we come to His house to acknowledge this fact:
That God has restored us, and that certainly is that.

We all have been saved and in thanksgiving we cry,
We lift up our voices to fill up the sky.
Our God is right with us, he stands by our side,
He love us, his children, and His love will abide.

During our Lenten journey of almsgiving and fasting,
Remember God forgives us; His love’s everlasting.
May we live out our days in service to others,
To love all our neighbors as sisters and brothers.

May we praise our good Father in word and in song,
With God as our guide, we can never go wrong.
We love You, Lord Jesus, again and again:
All glory, praise, and honor forever more. Amen!

Do not fear, Zion, do not be discouraged! The Lord, your God, is in your midst, a mighty savior, Who will rejoice over you with gladness, and renew you in his love, Who will sing joyfully because of you, as on festival days. ~Zephaniah 3:16-18

We need a Lenten “unselfie.” Find out why.
