I realize that we are only one week into Lent, but some of us may be feeling a bit of pressure, especially if we gave up something that was really hard to give up. It’s right about now when we need a little boost of endurance to get us over the hump.
Here is a beautiful poem to help us endure through our Lenten journey:
Endurance means you never give up…
You persist day after day.
And Christ will help you endure,
If you read His Word and pray.
He invites you to follow Him,
Seek His guidance in all you do.
Ask for strength and courage to go on –
He will give aid and guide you too.
Our Lord is just a prayer away,
And His Word is always true.
No matter how difficult life may seem,
His great love will see you through.
He’s the power of all powers;
Yet He’s still a loving friend.
Jesus offers us His friendship,
From the beginning to the end.
There is nothing He won’t do for you,
If He thinks it’s for your best,
Give Him your heart and live for Him –
He will help you do the rest.

Whenever we struggle, no matter what the situation or condition, know that we can always go to Jesus in prayer. Jesus knows what we are going through and will always be there for us. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help and guidance. Place your petitions and concerns before the Lord, but then make sure you quiet yourself to hear what Jesus is telling you. You can do this!
Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. And let perseverance be perfect, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. ~James 1:2-4
