If you’ve been following my writings for a while, you will have noticed that I am still struggling with all of the trials and tribulations that have enveloped my life for quite some time. And with all that has been happening, I continue to struggle with that difficult 5-letter word.
I remember that while on retreat last year, I was able to finally begin the practice of acceptance and working diligently to try and move on, knowing that I have learned and grown along the way. While doing some spiritual reading, I came across this paragraph that described a person who had experienced one wrong thing after another:
“When a lot of things start going wrong all at once, it is to protect something big and lovely that is trying to get itself born – and that this something needs for you to be distracted so that it can be born as perfectly as possible.”
During my most stressful times, I frequently cried out, “Lord, I’m not sure what you’re trying to teach me here, but please help me understand.” There’s no doubt that I was very distracted, but apparently for a very good reason.
Maybe, that’s what faith is all about. It’s not about having the answer right now but believing in God’s ultimate plan for us. We all have our crosses that we have to carry; but at some point, we will finally understand and realize that God knew what he was doing all along. That’s why we must always trust in God. And TRUST is that one difficult 5-letter word that will challenge us as we continue to live out our faith.
O Most High, when I am afraid, in you I place my trust. I praise the word of God; I trust in God, I do not fear. What can mere flesh do to me? ~Psalm 56:4-5
Do you have trust issues, too? If so, check this out.
